Bulky Item: Requires Special Disposal
DO NOT place tires in curbside recycling carts, waste carts, or drop-off site containers. Tires are regulated waste and require special disposal in the City of Omaha.
Tires can be taken to River City Recycling & Transfer Station, 6404 South 60th Street (60th & Harrison Streets). There is a fee to process tires. Find more information at the link below:
Important Note: Tires are NOT accepted at the Douglas County Pheasant Point Landfill.
Where Else Could It Go?
During the Omaha Spring & Fall Cleanup events, neighborhood drop-off sites for bulky items and tires will be available to Omaha residents at no cost.
- Tires MUST have rims removed
- Take tires to the specific site designated for tire collection

The Omaha Spring & Fall Cleanups are annual, free events that provide City of Omaha residents with the opportunity to recycle or dispose of large or bulky items that are not accepted through curbside waste or recycling services, such as old furniture, appliances, tires, mattresses, and more.
