Where Else Could It Go?

FirstStar Recycling offers a special program to collect hard-to-recycle plastics in our community. To participate, you can purchase orange Hefty® EnergyBags®, which will be collected through your existing curbside and drop-off site services.

EMPTY and CLEAN frozen food bags can be placed in the orange bag. When filled with accepted materials and tied shut, the bright orange Hefty® EnergyBag® is the ONLY bag that can be placed in a curbside recycling cart or drop-off site container. Learn more about the local Hefty® EnergyBag® program:

Did You Know

Not all bags are the same: Frozen food bags are typically made from a heavier type of plastic resin so that they can withstand the freezing process. This type of plastic bag is NOT accepted in the City of Omaha's recycling program nor the WRAP collection sites for plastic bag and film recycling. Place frozen food bags in the garbage, or in an orange Hefty® EnergyBag®.
